Traceability & quality

Every carton resolves back to a vessel, a trip and a haul

We own the fleet, the plant and the cold store, so the chain of custody never leaves our hands. Below is exactly what we record, what we test and what you receive with the shipping documents.

Chain of custody

Six controlled steps

Each step writes to the same lot record. The code printed on the master carton is the key that ties them together.

  1. 01

    Catch

Our vessels fish under Argentine quota in FAO Area 41. Each haul is logged with position, depth, gear and start and end time.

    • Vessel and trip number
    • Catch position and date
    • Gear and haul log
  2. 02

    Landing

Product is landed chilled at Puerto Madryn and inspected at reception before it enters the plant.

    • Reception temperature
    • Organoleptic assessment
    • Landed weight per species
  3. 03

    Processing

Filleting, trimming and grading run under a SENASA-audited HACCP plan with documented critical control points.

    • Production order and lot code
    • CCP monitoring records
    • Yield per lot
  4. 04

    Freezing

Plate and blast freezing to a core temperature of −25 °C, with the glazing percentage set by your specification.

    • Freezing curve and core temperature
    • Glazing percentage
    • Net and gross weight control
  5. 05

    Cold storage

3,500 pallet positions at −25 °C, with continuous temperature logging and lot-level stock control.

    • Continuous temperature log
    • Pallet and lot location
    • Stock rotation by production date
  6. 06

    Container loading

Reefer containers are pre-cooled, stuffed under supervision and sealed. The seal number is reported with the documents.

    • Pre-cooling record
    • Loading photographs
    • Container and seal number

Quality control

Tested in our own laboratory, lot by lot

The plant runs an in-house laboratory and works with accredited external laboratories for the analyses your market requires.

Microbiology

Total plate count, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus on release lots.

Chemistry

Histamine, heavy metals, sulphite residue and total volatile basic nitrogen where the specification requires it.

Physical control

Net weight after deglazing, glazing percentage, size grading tolerance, metal detection and foreign body inspection.

Sensory panel

Trained panel assessment of colour, odour, texture and cooked flavour on every production day.

Analysis certificates for the specific lots in your container are issued before shipment and travel with the document pack.

Documentation

What you receive with each shipment

Drafts are sent for your approval before the vessel sails, so nothing is corrected after the fact at destination.

  1. Health certificate

Issued by SENASA, the Argentine national food safety authority, naming the establishment and the destination market.

  2. Certificate of origin

Issued by the corresponding chamber, with preferential origin where an agreement applies.

  3. Catch certificate

EU IUU catch certificate, or the equivalent required by your market, validated before loading.

  4. Invoice and packing list

Line by line, with lot codes, net and gross weights and carton counts per pallet.

  5. Bill of lading

Issued by the carrier, with the container and seal numbers matching our loading record.

  6. Production and analysis report

Lot-level production data, yields, glazing and the laboratory results for the shipped lots.

Sustainability

Fishing inside the Argentine management framework

Our vessels operate under quota allocations issued by the Argentine Federal Fisheries Council, with satellite monitoring and on-board observers as required by the fishery.

  • Individual transferable quota per vessel and species
  • Satellite vessel monitoring system reporting to the national authority
  • Selectivity devices to reduce juvenile and non-target catch
  • MSC chain of custody available on certified hake volumes
  • Waste recovered as fishmeal and oil at an associated plant
  • Water and energy consumption tracked per tonne produced
